Long Time, New Toys!

I know I haven't posted here in a long time! I'm a bad, bad blogger. But, I recently bought a Silhouette SD and I'm having fun playing! Here is a card I made for my mother's birthday using papers from Scrap Girls.

Doily Project....Done!

My friend Gina sent me some doilies to work on a doily project with a group of scrappers. I have had a rough summer, but finally sat down and finished it! And I absolutely love it!! Thank you so much Gina!

I decided to do a theme about my marriage. Each square has a word like Love, Cherish, Mom & Dad, etc. The colors match my living room and, did I mention, I love it!
The shadow box is from Hobby Lobby. The background papers are from Scrap Girls. Ribbons and bows are from Martha Stewart, The Ribbon Boutique, Offray and American Crafts. Buttons are from The Paper Studio. Flowers are from Jolee's by You and K &Company. Pearls are from Queen & Company. Word stickers are from K & Company.
Thanks for looking!

Heritage Crop Tonight @ ScrapGirls!

Tonight at 8 pm eastern is our monthly Heritage Crop over at Scrap Girls! I absolutely LOVE old photos. I've scrapped two books, one for my grandmother and one for my grandfather. I'm currently working on the older photos from my mother in law's family. Auntie, who lived to be 103 yrs old, kept track of family history and photos so we have a huge treasure!

Here's a sneak peak at my layout for tonight's crop:

This is Arthur Biddlecombe's sister. I don't know her name, but if I do find out, I'll be sure to add it to the layout. I just love her dress!! All products are from ScrapGirls.com.

August, Already?

It's been one hot summer, full of stuff to do! I've been working on my sister in laws baby shower. She's pregnant with twins...a boy and a girl! The shower is coming up soon and I'm busy working on diaper cakes and other decorations. It will be a small group, but should be a lot of fun! Then, Brooke's birthday is next week. Hard to believe she's going to be 6 yrs old. If only the whiny stage would end!!!

We made an unexpected trip to Florida last week. My grandmother passed away. She was 84 yrs old and we are all going to miss her terribly. She was a true matriarch and well loved by everyone. She took care of everyone and it was so hard to watch her health deteriorate. I'm sure I'll be creating a lot of projects with her in mind in the coming weeks. Once the girls are back in school, I'll have a lot more time to create. I'm really looking forward to it!!

I'm off to make dinner!

Hugs!

I Survived!

Well, my daughter is 8 years old now and I survived. I have discovered that I am too old for all nighters, though, lol! Instead of having a big party, we had a sleepover party with just a few girls. My mistake was having the family over later that day. By the time dinner was done, so was I! I think I've recovered now, but I don't look forward to doing that again. All but one of the girls were asleep before midnight, but that one was up a lot, all night. I slept on the couch and that didn't help me.

We let Lauren get her ears pierced for her birthday! She was so brave and loves her earrings. She is doing a great job leaving them alone and keeping them clean. I can't wait until we can start changing her earrings to match her outfits! It's funny, because I have my ears pierced by rarely wear earrings!!

Time for the bus! TTFN!

15 years and counting!

Today is our 15th wedding anniversary! I've been reflecting about our lives and how things have changed. In 15 years, we've:

become homeowners
traded in our sports cars for family cars
added 2 daughters to our family
traded in rock concerts for Sesame Street Live and Disney on Ice
grown up and become more mature

I could go on and on. But we are still just as happy today as we were 15 yrs ago, if not happier. I don't have one single complaint about our lives and the direction they've gone in.
